48th Annual Medgar Evers Homecoming Parade Saturday

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The 48th Annual Medgar Evers homecoming celebration was in full swing Friday night.

The event honors the late Civil Rights leader over the course of several days here in the Capital City.

A homecoming banquet was held Friday night at Greater Mount Calvary family Life Center on Robinson Road.

The guest speaker was radio talk show host Rip Daniels.

A parade is set for Saturday morning at  10 a.m. beginning at Freedom Corner. And I will serve as grand marshal!
