Receding waters from the Great Flood of 2011 are giving victims some relief, but local businesses came together Saturday in Vicksburg to lift their spirits and offer some financial relief.
Live music filled the air during the daylong event at Vicksburg Mall, formerly Pemberton Square Mall.
The festival and concert allowed flood victims to take their minds off the devastation and have a day of fun.
Organizers said business leaders wanted to be supportive of residents who have given them so much.
"Me and local guys decided to help the flood victims. We wanted to reach out and help the community do something positive, giving people a positive outlook after the tragic event," said Event coordinator Charles Pendleton.
Organizers said all proceeds go to the American Red Cross and FEMA.
