BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A severe storm system blew through the metro area leaving damage and power outages in its wake Monday.
High winds were powerful enough to snap a huge tree from a neighbor's yard on to the house on 121 Meadow Lane Drive in Brandon.
The tree also took down a power line.
Justin Shaw said the tree had always concerned him and he and his girlfriend had just left the house 35 minutes earlier.
"Well, I figured the tree would take out our house and completely smush it, so I was actually gonna see about getting it cut down but it was too late," said Shaw.
No one was injured.
