Vandals hit 2 Mississippi cemeteries

MYRTLE, Miss. (AP) - Vandals broke or overturned more than 100 gravestones in a Union County cemetery and broke several more at the Booneville Cemetery sometime over the weekend.

Jimmy Edwards, chief deputy with the Union County Sheriff's Department, says the damage at Union Hill is very extensive.

Vandals also struck the city cemetery in Booneville, overturning or damaging about three dozen markers.

Investigators from the Union County Sheriff's Office and the Booneville Police Department are seeking suspects in both cases.
