A Brookhaven woman was killed when her vehicle slammed into a tree. The accident happened around 7:20 Saturday morning.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, 22-year-old Sabrina Lemieux was traveling on Highway 583 north. She was about 10 miles south of Brookhaven when she lost control of the car, crossed two lanes of traffic and hit a tree.
MHP officer Staff Sergeant Rusty Boyd says she was not wearing a seatbelt. She was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
