Two men were burned in a farm accident near Yazoo City this afternoon. One of them has serious burns.
Sheriff Tommy Vaughn says a farm tractor was being refueled at Paul's Farm, on River Road near Highway 149, when static electricity caused an explosion.
One worker sustained serious burns and the other was not injured as severely as he tried to put out the flames on the first worker.
Air ambulance transported the worker with more serious burns to UMC for treatment. The other worker was driven to King's Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.
Vaughn says it's rare for diesel to ignite by static electricity.
The accident occurred around 1:30. Vaughn said he did not want to release names until next of kin had been notified.
