Another Round Of Storms That Could Turn Severe

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Another round of storms is expected for today's forecast, with a chance of storms kicking in by mid morning. The embedded t-storms began cranking up early in Texas and expected to expand during the heating of the day.

Highs are expected to climb to the upper 80s, which is slightly lower than the norm for this time of the year. Tuesday's high of 86 fell shy of the normal high by 4 degrees. However we received .42" of rain before 5pm.

Flooding concerns along the Mississippi River is also subsiding. The Natchez site along the Mississippi River has now fallen to the flood stage level. This morning's reading came in at 48 feet, the exact same as the flood stage. And it continues to fall. In Vicksburg this mornings level was 38.7 feet. And in Greenville the 4am reading was 39.1 feet.

The Yazoo Basin continues to fall as well. the Belzoni site is now at 17.3 feet. In Yazoo City the morning numbers have dropped to 22.5 feet. And Greenwood has fallen to 16.3 feet.
