Wednesday's Child - Rondranequekia

Posted: Updated:
RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

This week's Wednesday's Child says about the only thing longer than her name is the time she has spent in foster care.

She prefers her nickname and would choose a forever family only if her siblings are with her.

We met her big brother Domonique last week.

There are a total of 10 children but only four of them are still waiting to be adopted.

Rondranequekia says she likes to be called Ron and most people don't pronounce her name correctly.

She is a typical teenager who loves to shop, talk and text.

"I'm smart, loving, caring person and I like to dance and go out of town," Ron said.

Ron enjoys singing and dancing but she says that is not what she plans to do as a career.

"I want to be a nurse," Ron said.

"Why did you choose a nurse? Cause I want to help people," Ron said.

Her favorite subject is math.

She says multiplying and division are fun and challenging.

"What do you do when you're with your girlfriends? Do you just laugh and talk? We go shopping and we go to the mall," Ron said.

Although we are featuring six children Ron says there are actually 6 girls and 4 boys in their family.

She says although they are separated in foster homes, they are close and want to be adopted together.

"Tell me how you feel about adoption? I don't feel too good. Why? Cause….Are you scared? Nods no."

Ron says she is not afraid but wants to make sure they find the right family.

"A nice family that takes care of you," Ron said.

If you would like more information on adoption through the Department of Human Services call the Mississippi Adoption Resource Exchange at 1-800-821-9157.
