JEFFERSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A former Jefferson County Justice Court Judge has been arrested for allegedly selling drugs to undercover police officers.

Fifty-eight-year-old Charlie Chambliss of Lorman, was charged with one count each for sale of a controlled substance in Jefferson and Claiborne Counties.

He was arrested Friday in an investigation by a multi-county drug task force.

Claiborne Sheriff Frank Davis said the former judge sold Hydrocodone to undercover officers.

Authorities say they are unable to recall how long it had been since Chambliss served on the bench.
