After finally admitting to crimes he committed seven years ago, Roderick Catchings of Florence was sentenced to 35 years behind bars.
Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest says, to avoid trial, Catchings pleaded guilty in open court to three counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.
Back in November of 2004, Catchings walked into the West Quick Stop convenience store in Star, Miss. holding a pistol and demanded money from the cashier.
The crime was caught on surveillance video. During the robbery, Catchings shot a stock clerk twice.
He will not be eligible for probation, parole or early release.
