Jackson fireman injured fighting house fire

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson firefighter was transported to a local hospital Tuesday after responding to a house fire at 236 McDowell Park Circle in south Jackson.

The home was heavily damaged and a car destroyed after flames engulfed the structure.

Family members were at home when the fire broke out. They managed to escape unharmed before firefighters arrived.

The unnamed fireman was treated for heat exhaustion.

Investigators are trying to determine how the blaze started.
