GREENWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We have new information on yesterday's deadly prison stabbing at the Delta Correctional Facility. We now know the name of the victim and other inmates involved.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell says that Derek Criddle died after being stabbed numerous times during the fight. Criddle is from Grenada County. He was sentenced to prison for twenty-five years for armed robbery.

During the fight five inmates were injured with stab wounds. Three of those inmates, Joshua Hughes, Christopher Keys and Johnny Bonner were flown to UMMC in Jackson. Hughes and Keys remain hospitalized in stable condition. Bonner was released.

Inmates James Jones and Desmond Harrision were taken to Greenwood Leflore Hospital. They've also been released and are back at the Delta Correctional Facility.

Purnell says Wednesday's fight broke out around 7 p-m in an open pod with fifty-two inmates inside.

Purnell says the fight appeared to be gang related.
