JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A former employee of the Metro Inn says he witnessed lots of illegal activity while employed there during a six month stint in 2009.

The man who wishes not to be identified says drugs prostitution and minors partying all night were the norm.

Two Brandon teens are now accused of killing James Craig Anderson near the motel.

The former employee says he had witnessed the teens attending parties at the motel in the past.  When he asked them what they were doing there, he says they told him to, "mind his own business".

Deryl Dedmon was jailed on Wednesday on a $800,000.00 bond and house arrest following a hearing.  He had been free on a $50,000.00 bond.

Rice is in jail without bond.

Prosecutors believe it was a hate crime, and say the teens shouted out racial slurs before driving over Anderson in a truck.

Witnesses say it was Dedmon at the wheel, and they saw him talking to Anderson before the murder took place.

A surveillance video of the crime has not yet been released not the media.
