JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson man indicted for murder has filed a lawsuit against the Jackson Police Department, and several Hinds County deputies. 26 year old Charles Kuebler was arrested June 30, 2010, for the murder of 28 year Tamara "Tammy" Stuckey.

Kuebler yelled obscenities from the back of a JPD cruiser after he was handcuffed. He is now accusing officers of beating, torturing and abusing him after he was taken into custody.

In the federal lawsuit Kuebler is also accusing several Hinds County deputies of beating him. He claims he suffered a broken elbow and numerous other injuries. The lawsuit also says other officers witnessed the excessive force and did nothing to protect Kuebler.

Kuebler is asking for compensatory and punitive damages. He is awaiting trial for the shooting death of Stuckey.
