JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police were called to a home in south Jackson after a resident claimed a group of guys beat him up.

Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green says the incident happened just before 7:30AM Friday morning.

Police say, Fred Fair who lives in the 400 block of Kingswood Avenue told police a group of men jumped him as he was walking outside of his home. When police checked out the scene they say Fair's story didn't seem to line up .

Green says, "all the evidence points to his bedroom in the four hundred block of Kingswood Avenue, so right now, we're just trying to investigate, he's being very uncooperative , so we're not really able to get a lot of info from him."

Officer Green says when police went into Fair's bedroom it appeared as if someone had already used bleach to clean-up blood.
