JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A fatal car crash in late June has claimed a second victim.

Martha Bunzy,33, was critically injured in that head on collision.

It occurred on Capital Street near Castlehill Drive shortly before midnight on June 25th.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said Bunzy died of mass blunt force trauma, eight days later on July 3rd at University Medical Center.

Jackson police said 34-year old Emmett Williams was traveling north on Castlehill at a high rate of speed and lost control of his 2003 GMC Yukon.

He crashed into Bunzy's Mitsubishi Mirage.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bunzy's 11-year-old daughter was also injured, suffering several broken bones.

Officials said she was released from the hospital prior to her mother's death.
