Father and son found guilty of bribing MDOT official

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A father and son could face up to 10 years behind bars and a $250,000.

All for trying to bribe an MDOT official back in 2009.

According to the FBI, 67-year-old, Kenneth Biglane and 40-year-old Peter Biglane of Laurel, pled guilty in Jackson federal court Friday.

Both men worked for Oxpath resources, LLC which is a company that performs title work, appraisal and other land projects.

Investigators say in June of 2009 Kenneth Biglane approached then Executive Director of MDO Butch Brown, Biglane offered to pay a percentage of his company's profits in exchange for contracts.

However, brown reported the bribe to the FBI.  Kenneth and Peter Biglane are scheduled to be sentenced on September 30th.
