Forecast: Record Heat

Posted: Updated:

A heat advisory continues across the area through Monday evening.

A large area of high pressure will strengthen over our region during the next couple of days. This will increase our temperatures, bringing them to near record levels for this time of year.

Triple digit high temperatures are possible through Tuesday along with nighttime lows in the upper 70s. Some areas may not even drop below 80° at night!

By Thursday, the center of the heat dome will shift west to Texas and Oklahoma, allowing for highs to be a little cooler and generally in the mid 90s.

Rain chances are slim, but not zero. Each afternoon there is a chance isolated showers and thunderstorms could develop. Any storms that do develop will move slowly and may produce rainfall totals of 1-2". Strong winds are possible with any severe storms.
