Beer and Bones draws crowds to downtown Jackson

A grilling competition got underway downtown Jackson Saturday afternoon.  For the second year F. Jones Corner on Farish Street hosted Beer and Bones.   Cooks were taking their skills to the flame, grilling up great food for hungry festival goers.

Local artists were displaying their work and soulful singers were sharing music.  Moss, Kudzu Kings and Otis Lotus were just some of the regional bands performing.  Beer and Bones was an effort to get crowds to return to downtown Jackson.

"It is really to get people to come downtown, come back to downtown Jackson.  We don't really have Jubilee Jam going this year.  We didn't have a lot of things we look forward to in the Summer weren't going down this year for whatever reason.  We're just trying to have a presence down here, get people who normally wouldn't be downtown on the weekend, downtown on the weekend," said F. Jones Corner owner Daniel Dillon.

The party continues through 4:00 a.m. Sunday.  Tickets are $20.
