Warming trend this week

A weak area of low pressure will continue to move across the southern part of the state tonight and Monday. Meanwhile, high pressure will get stronger over northern parts of the area. This will lead to warmer temperatures on Monday, with highs in the lower 90s.

As the low pressure continues to move out of the area, we may see a few more storms around on Monday afternoon. Otherwise, most areas will stay dry as the weather pattern changes through the week.

By mid-week, I expect the massive heat dome will be closer to us and our highs will be in the mid 90s. This trend should last through the weekend. Rain chances will only be around 15% from Wednesday through Sunday.

Focusing in on the tropics, Tropical Depression Two formed off the east coast of Florida on Sunday afternoon. The official forecast from the National Hurricane Center is for the depression to become Tropical Storm Bret by Monday. The forecast track takes the system east into middle Atlanta by the end of the work week.
