Heavy Showers May Cause Flood Concerns

Posted: Updated:

Lower temps expected this week, but that doesn't mean it's going to feel that much cooler. A warm and muggy air mass will continue across our area for the first half of the work week. Expect the risk for heavy rain and storms to return this afternoon and continue into Tuesday as a weak cold front pushes into our area.

As far as 'strong & damaging winds' - it looks minimal; so don't expect any severe weather. However, heavy rain and flash flooding is a concern due to the slow movement of storms and the heavy tropical rains.

Additionally humidity is also a concern. High temperatures will reach the lower 90s, but with such humid air in place, the heat index will range from 100-105 Monday afternoon.

Heavy rain and storm chances continue into Tuesday. By mid to late week, the pattern will begin to change. Rain chances will go down, while afternoon highs return to the mid to upper 90s by next weekend.
