Renodda Dorman Source: State Auditor's Office
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Former Leake County Chamber of Commerce executive director Renodda Dorman was arrested Monday on forgery and embezzlement charges.
The 62-year-old from Carthage is accused of embezzling $60,916 dollars between 2008 and 2010.
Dorman began working for the agency in 2001. She is no longer employed with the chamber.
Dorman is charged with two counts of uttering forgery and embezzlement following a 7-month long joint investigation by District Attorney Mark Duncan's office, the Leake County Sheriff's Office, Carthage Police Department and the State Auditor's Office.
The investigation showed she wrote unauthorized checks to herself for additional salary and wrote checks to pay for her personal cable and cell phone bills.
Dorman was booked into the Leake County Sheriff's office Monday and has been released on bond.
