The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for areas along and southeast of the Natchez Trace Parkway until 7:00pm.
Slow moving showers and storms will continue to be possible in these areas through early this evening. Rainfall rates of 1-2" per hour are possible, with locally heavier amounts possible.
Radar rain estimates in these areas show anywhere from 4-7" of rain has fallen in the past few days.
A slow moving weak cold front will push southward overnight into Tuesday. This will help northern airs dry out for a brief period as drier air builds in. Rain chances will continue to be high for areas along and south of I-20 through Tuesday night.
I'll have a complete rundown of the work week forecast on the WLBT 4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm, and 6pm newscasts.
