RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The man who fled from authorities Monday afternoon remains on the loose late Monday night.

Flowood Police Chief Johnny DeWitt says they are continuing to search for 37 year old Joseph Brasfield.

Officers spotted Brasfield at the Walmart on Lakeland Drive Monday afternoon.

Brasfield is wanted for grand larceny in Rankin County and other areas for stealing televisions.

Police say Brasfield took off in a vehicle down Highway 25 to the Vineyard Apartments.

Brasfield then jumped out and took off on foot into Castlewoods near the Azalea Trails area.

Brasfield was wearing a neon green yellow shirt and some long underwear.

Authorities say they found his shoes and jeans in the woods.

Brasfield is now also facing a felony fleeing charge.
