Junior League distributes school supplies

The Junior League of Jackson is distributing backpacks filled with school supplies at 6 Elementary schools.

Raines Elementary was their first stop, where 100 book bags filled with all the necessary supplies were handed out to 100 children in grades 1 through 5.

 The children were identified by need, and the distribution continues at Bradley, Clausell, French, Pecan Park, and Lake Elementary schools within JPS.  One hundred will be handed out at each school. The total budget $12-thousand-dollars.

    One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.
    Savannah Nash celebrated her 16th birthday last week. She died Thursday when her car slammed into a semi while she was texting during her first time driving by herself.
