The 1996 Jeep Cherokee stolen from a Florence gas station Sunday morning has been recovered.

The vehicle was found around 6:00 Monday night at a service station in Winona.

The Jeep was stolen around 10:00 Sunday morning at the Shell station on Highway 49 and it was all caught on camera.

The surveillance video provided by Florence Police shows the thief getting into the 1996 Jeep Cherokee.

The teen driver left the keys in the ignition while he entered the store.

The thief struggled to drive it in reverse then pushed it out of the parking spot and drove away.

The Jeep's driver had this to say about his experience.

"I now know not to leave my keys in the ignition, leave my jeep running and just be more cautious," said Travis Trawick.

Officers have not identified the suspect.

Winona Police had the vehicle towed.

The owner has been notified.
