Bryant casts his vote at Brandon precinct

Posted: Updated:
BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Like many hopefuls looking to succeed Governor Haley Barbour, Republican gubernatorial candidate Phil Bryant took the time to cast his ballot Tuesday afternoon.

Bryant arrived at a precinct in Brandon where he and his wife were greeted by supporters. Bryant is seen, by many, as the frontrunner because he has the most name recognition as the current lieutenant governor.

He says while it's been a long campaign, it's been one he feels comfortable with. Bryant faces four other candidates in the Republican Primary.

"To see family and friends and so many people out here holding up sings in this kind of temperature that volunteered to help, that's always heart-warming. We had a good campaign, we talked about the issues, we've been very positive and we hope tonight it'll all payoff. We think it will," said Bryant.
