"I feel bad because I told these people their vote makes a difference. What do I think? I think they were cheated. They were cheated out of their right to vote." Gay Polk-candidate for Hinds County Representative
"We must end all the illegal activities taking place with voting in Hinds County." Kenny Stokes-Jackson City Councilman and winner of Hinds County District 5 Supervisor
"I haven't had any complaints people gave me." Claude Mcinnis-Chairman, Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee
Problems? What problems?
So the folks in charge of putting on a statewide election in Hinds County every four years don't seem to think it's that big of a deal.
Go tell that to the voters who spent their time and money to exercise the one truly democratic power our country gives us.
Too often, those in charge of elections give them machines that won't work, names of candidates and races missing and precincts that are locked.
The next time you go to vote, don't be surprised if they ask you to dip your thumb in a bottle of purple ink so they can certify the election.
That's my Point of View.
