Fire rips through west Jackson apartment

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An apartment building in Jackson was evacuated when a fire broke out in a child's bedroom. This happened at the Wood Village Apartments off West Highland Drive around 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

Several Jackson Fire trucks responded to the blaze at building M.

A tenant explained flames were shooting out from an electrical socket in her daughter's bedroom and the fire quickly spread. Everyone was evacuated from the building. No one was injured.
