JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - State officials say an inmate who escaped from the Greenwood Restitution Center has been captured.
Mississippi's Department of Corrections says 40-year-old Fredrick Turlich was serving a 9-year sentence for Grand Larceny in Marion County when it was discovered that he was missing from the Greenwood facility. Carrollton County Sheriff's Office deputies caught him without incident at a church on Mississippi Highway 7 near the Avalon Community Sunday afternoon.
A statement from the corrections department said Turlich was to be taken to the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl.
