Brandon Bulldogs are Making Strides

BRANDON, MS (WLBT) - The Brandon Bulldogs did something last season they had not done since the Jerious Norwood days--- reach the playoffs.

Brandon wound up making it to the second round of the 6A playoffs before losing to Oak Grove and finishing up with a 7-6 record.

That success has made this Bulldog team hungry for more.

Coach Brad Peterson's squad returns an experienced offensive line, a solid group of running backs and an athletic defense.

The team has been beating the heat and making strides.

"As far as our team goes, we are getting better. We are better this time now than we were last year but like I told the players, everybody else is going to be a little bit better than they were at this time last year," said Peterson.

"We have to prove a lot of people wrong again this year. A lot of people think we won't be that good this year. We graduated a lot but you know, we have the tools to make it to Jackson, we just have to prove it," said senior center Kellan Tadlock.

"We are looking pretty good. Looking to make it to the state championship, but first we have to play hard and play all the way throughout our season, get to the playoffs and get up to the championship point," senior running back Chris Richmond stated.

The Bulldogs open their season August 16th against Vicksburg.
