The majority of the heat advisories have been allowed to expire for today, but does that mean we'll have a clear cut break in the heat? We're still expecting highs to reach into the upper 90s, despite the downgrade in heat alert status.
But a much cooler start to the day makes for a hopeful start for the weekend. And the winds from the north help to cut some of the moist & heated air. Saturday's heat and humidity returns to 'advisory' form as temps climb to near 100 one more time before the 'break' really kicks in.
By Monday we'll start in the 60s and have a slow (and less humid) climb to only 91 degrees. Perhaps we'll have a chance to stay at normal or lower than normal temps for all of next week (we can always hope).
