Wind damage in Vicksburg

Posted: Updated:

A line of severe storms produced quite a bit of damage in Vicksburg and southern Warren County early Saturday evening.

So far we have reports of trees and power lines down in the 3600 block of Halls Ferry Rd. Also, power poles and lines down on Washington St. near Diamond Jacks Casino. We also have a report that a crane was toppled at a construction site of a bridge near the Diamond Jackson Casino.

Additional reports have come in to the WLBT Newsroom of power lines down near Travelers Rest Church.

The storms also produced torrential rain, which caused flash flooding. There was a report of a person trapped in a car due to flash flooding on Cherry St.

One person was injured after a power pole fell on a truck.

These same storms produced sporadic wind damage across parts of Claiborne, Hinds and Copiah Counties.
