Firefighters battle blaze in Copiah County

HAZLEHURST, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Copiah County Sunday.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of Monticello Street in Hazlehurst.

The Hazlehurst Fire Department was on scene hosing down the roof of the home trying to extinguish what was left of the blaze.

At this time, it is unknown whether the house was occupied.

Firefighters have not made a full assessment of the damage to the house or discovered what caused the blaze.
