Wednesday's Child - Belinda

Posted: Updated:
CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We first met this week's Wednesday's Child in 2008 with four of her siblings.

A year ago she talked about being adopted with her older sister Caroline.

Belinda says she has been waiting a long time but still hopes to find a forever family where she can grow up with her sisters.

Belinda was 11 years old when we first met her.

Then and now Belinda says she is the happiest when she is with her siblings.

Belinda has some challenges but is outgoing and fun loving.

She enjoys drawing, shopping, telling jokes, playing basketball, and eating anything with chocolate in it.

"Tell me some things you like to do?"

"Go shopping," Belinda said.

Do you like to go shopping? What do you like to buy?"

"Clothes and shoes," Belinda said.

It is hard for Belinda to put into words how she feels about her two youngest sisters, Stephanie and Mary.

It is obvious that she is protective and proud of them.

She says she is glad they are smart.

"Tell me about school, do you like school?"

"I do all my work," Belinda said.

"Very good. Do you have a favorite subject?

"Math," Belinda said.

Belinda is described by social workers as high energy.

She wants a big family and stresses she wants to maintain contact with her siblings.

She has asked her social worker to hurry up and find her a permanent family.

"What kind of people would you like?"

"Go to church and go to bible study," Belinda said.

Belinda is hoping this is her last Wednesday's Child taping and the next time we meet she will introduce us to her adoptive family.

For more information on adoption through the Department of Human Services, call the Mississippi Adoption Resource Exchange at 1-800-821-9157.
