Child in critical condition after discovered in a pool - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
Sunday evening a child was listed in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool. It happened around 2:00 Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of Rollingwood Drive off Westbrook Road in Northeast Jackson.
According to Officer Colendula Green, first responders rushed to the home after a six-year-old girl found her one-year-old brother face down in a backyard pool. The baby was unresponsive and was rushed to a local hospital by AMR.
"The one year old was the only child laying face down in the pool at that time. Apparently his sister was outside the swimming pool. We're not sure if the parents were out there at the time or if they were inside the residence so we're just trying to investigate that," said Green.
No word if a child safety gate was in place around the pool. The child's identity has not been released.
