Police working murder investigation in Utica

UTICA, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A late-night murder prompts an investigation in Utica.

Hinds County Sheriff's Deputies say 34-year-old Joe Lavell Dixon was stabbed to death by his girlfriend after a domestic dispute.

This happened in the 34-hundred block of Dixon Road around 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Twenty-six-year-old Shemeka Ford is currently being held at the Hinds County Detention Center without bond.
