Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The folks from the Mississippi Museum of Art invite you to their "Art by Choice" sale and live auction. The annual event raises money to help the museum acquire new artwork. If you attend Friday night, you can choose from nearly 200 pieces of art.

Many of the pieces were created by local artists, but lots of the art comes from artists outside of Mississippi." There's a pretty unique story behind many of the pieces on sale.

Jenny Tate, the Director of Marketing for the museum says, "we have some neat stories so for those individuals that are going to be with us tonight they'll get to see and hear about those pieces and learn more about them and maybe take an interesting piece home."

The sale begins at 7:00 PM at the Mississippi Museum of Art. Reservations are $50. For an additional $50 you can get into the sale an hour early. For more information, call the museum at 601-965-1515. You can also go online to  www.store.msmuseumart.org to make reservations.
