Travis Shelton Source: Clinton PDCLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Clinton Police have arrested 25-year-old Travis Tyree Shelton and charged him with two recent bank robberies.
Shelton is charged with Wednesday morning's robbery at the Copiah Bank and the Merchants & Farmers robbery on August 15th.
Thursday afternoon, Shelton's brother, Gregory Shelton was taken into custody at a Hazlehurst motel. He will also be charged in connection to both robberies.
U.S. Marshals and the Copiah County Sheriff's Department aided the Clinton Police Department in his capture, according to Police Chief Don Byington.
Gregory Shelton will be transported to Clinton.
Gregory Shelton has an extensive arrest record, including felony arrests for House Burglary, Possession of Cocaine and Auto Theft.
Travis Shelton, who has no know previous arrests, is cooperating with police following his arrest Wednesday night.
