Train collides with car sending one person to the hospital

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Emergency officials were on the scene of an accident involving a train Thursday evening. It happened on Ellis Avenue and Parkside Place near Woodrow Wilson Avenue in Jackson.

A red sedan was struck by the locomotive. The crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night. According to Officer Colendula Green, the driver claimed the car's manual transmission was stuck. Leaving the vehicle in a dangerous position.

One woman was transported to UMC with minor injuries. Another woman and a child were treated by AMR.
