JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A retired chief of the Tupelo Police Department, former head of the Jackson Police Training Academy and past Executive Director of Public Safety Training for the state was in the Rankin County Jail Friday.

Billy Vayne White, Jr., 55,  is charged with being a "peeping tom" or voyeurism. He was arrested Wednesday at his place of employment, a cigar shop on I-55 north Frontage Road in Jackson.

Brandon Police made the arrest because the alleged offense occurred at a Brandon home. Sources tell 3 On Your Side, there is surveillance video of the incident.

On Thursday, a Brandon municipal judge lowered White's bond from $500,000 to $50,000.

He is out of the Rankin County Jail after posting bond.
