Tropical Storm Lee Update - Sunday 1:00am

Posted: Updated:

.UPDATE...TROPICAL STORM LEE HAVING TROUBLE MOVING ONSHORE TONIGHT
AS IT IS DOING A BIT OF A SMALL LOOP JUST OFF THE CENTRAL LA COAST.
THE ESSENTIAL LACK OF MOVEMENT WITH THE SYSTEM IN THE PAST HANDFUL
OF HOURS IS RENDERING SOME MODEL SOLUTIONS FOR TONIGHT TOO
PROGRESSIVE WITH PRECIP LIFTING NORTH ACROSS THE ENTIRETY OF THE
ARKLAMISS. HAVE SLOWED DOWN PRECIP ARRIVAL SOME WITH THIS UPDATE IN
SOME NORTHERN ZONES...BUT EVEN THERE IT SHOULD START RAINING AT
LEAST IN LIGHT TO MODERATE FASHION BY DAWN.

HEAVIEST RAINFALL HAS DEFINITELY BEEN IN MY FAR SOUTHERN
ZONES...AND ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHEASTERN MS ALONG THE HIGHWAY 98
CORRIDOR WHERE RADAR ESTIMATE RAIN TOTALS GENERALLY ARE IN THE 2 TO
3 INCH RANGE. RAINFALL TOTALS THUS FAR REALLY TAPER OFF NORTH OF
HIGHWAY 84 AS RAIN RATES HAVE NOT BEEN HEAVY. EXPECT RAIN RATES AT
LEAST ALONG AND SOUTH OF I-20 TO PICK UP IN SCATTERED FASHION
THROUGH THE NIGHT...BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD TORRENTIAL
DOWNPOURS FOR THE BULK OF THE REGION MAY HOLD OFF UNTIL TOMORROW
OR TOMORROW NIGHT.
