Man found shot in back, arrest made

A Jackson man is found shot in the back and now the man accused of the crime is sitting in a jail cell.

Officers received a call Friday shortly before five p.m. alerting them to a shooting in the 1300 block of Hair Street.

There investigators found Robert Robinson of Jackson, age unknown, lying beside a vehicle.

Robinson suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back.

Police said he did not live in the Hair Street area.

Around 10:45 Saturday night J.P.D. officers arrested 50-year-old Alvin Robinson of Jackson.

He is charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators said the two men are not related.

No motive has been determined.

Green said Robert Robinson's injuries are considered life threatening.
