MORTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Residents in Scott County continue to deal with flooding from rain dumped by Tropical Storm Lee.

On Highway 481 north of Morton, the Coffee Bogue Creek has flooded its banks, covering nearby fields.  At 11:00 a.m., the churning creek was almost touching the bottom of the Highway 481 overpass.

Farther north the creek had spilled into the roadway, slowing down traffic.

Just south of Ludlow, Beach Creek flooded two homes. Property owners say they had to rescue two residents and several dogs as the waters rose around them earlier in the morning.  Everyone made it out without any injuries. There were also several flooded chicken houses in the area, but there were no chickens inside at the time.

There were also reports of flooding on Highway 80 east of Forest, and water touching Interstate 20 between mile markers 77 and 80. Those watching the water levels say it was quickly receding as the day went on.
