Tuesday First Alert Forecast

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Skies will remain mainly clear today, with some passing clouds across northern areas. Our temperatures will warm into the lower to middle 90s for highs today.

I'm tracking a cold front to our northwest. This front will arrive in our area Thursday into Friday. A few showers or even severe storms are possible ahead of the front on Wednesday for areas north of I-20. Large hail and straight-line winds over 60mph would be the main threats from any storms.

The front will continue to move into our area Thursday into Friday. The better coverage of rain will be Thursday. Right now it appears the rain will be done Friday morning, so there should not be any issues with the high school football games on Friday evening.

Drier and somewhat cooler weather will filter in through the weekend.
