I-55 lanes set to close Wednesday morning

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi Department of Transportation will close several Interstate 55 lanes Wednesday morning for repair work.

Starting at 9:00, the two outside northbound lanes and the two inside southbound lanes about a mile south of the Briarwood Drive exit in Hinds County will be shutdown.

The four lanes are expected to be closed for up to four hours for crews to repair the roadway.

MDOT advises motorists to avoid the area if possible and take an alternate route.
