Mobile dental office rolls into Jackson

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Students at Pecan Park elementary school had an opportunity to see the dentist in between classes on Thursday morning.

Thanks to the "Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures" mobile van, children took a short walk outside the school for their dental appointments.

Dentists from the UMC School of Dentistry provided each patient with free dental exams. Fifth grader Jacobe Varnell says he learned a lot after the dentist checked out his teeth.

Varnell says, "if you want to keep your teeth clean you have to brush them twice a day or three times a day and make sure you brush them really good."

Parents are encouraged to follow-up with their child's dentist after Thursday's exams.
