Man shot outside west Jackson home

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A man was shot in the head and stomach Thursday in front of a house in west Jackson.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on Alabama Avenue, just off West Capitol Street.

Police say the 32-year-old victim was taken to a Jackson hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

Police said it was not immediately clear what prompted the shooting, but were questioning several witnesses. No one was arrested.
