New tenant at One Jackson Place

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A law firm with offices in Washington, Atlanta and Montgomery will soon have offices in One Jackson Place in downtown Jackson. Balch and Bingham LLP will be occupying 27,000 square feet of space.

Parkway Properties, which built One Jackson Place, also announced the state's largest advertising agency, the Godwin Group, will have 17,000 square feet of newly renovated office space.

This makes One Jackson Place 84% occupied. It's a big turnaround for downtown Jackson after losing a large amount of law firm space when Butler Snow moved to Ridgeland recently.

Mayor Harvey Johnson could not be happier about what is happening downtown. The chairman emeritus of Parkway Properties, owner of One Jackson Place, Leland Speed, has long been a proponent of developing the downtown area.

While the 44,000 square feet involved in this announcement does not match the 100,000 square feet of office space lost downtown when the huge law firm of Butler Snow moved, it's a step in the right direction.
