Homeless individuals living in and around Jackson received some valuable help on Tuesday morning.
Close to 200 people attended the annual "Homeless Service Fair" at Smith Park. The fair brought together representatives from about forty service agencies. The homeless received information from those agencies regarding various resources including housing, health care and job search information.
Cathy Funches, the Homeless Coordinator for the City of Jackson says, "they've been in line long enough they've waited in line and had to walk places and we figure if we get everybody here under one roof so to speak, they can come here and have access to every agency, every resource that's available."
If you know someone who wasn't able to attend the fair and could use some help, you can call Cathy Funches with the City of Jackson at 601-960-2178.
